1/76 T/34 review - with particular reference to turret options

12345
The T34 comes with a wide range of turret options which allows the gamer to track the T34 from 1941-1945. I've been collecting for many years but I had decided to go for the Fujimi T34/76, T34/85 and SU85. As most Red Army models are now in 1/72 scale I found that it was difficult to get the later T34/76 with hexagonal turrets for the Mid-1943-1945 period. The turret options come with quite a lot of moulding material which needs removing. If you look carefully at the underside of the turrets one can see where you need to work with a set of small pliers, craft knife and file to prepare the turret to fit into the tank chassis. Be careful how you remove the flash from below the barrel. If unsure how to do this click on the instruction video on the BPM's main home page. The gun barrels need filing down carefully. If you are using these for 1/76 Fujimi kits I found that I needed to remove the material below the turret completely. I then found that a two 20p pieces plus six 1p's glued to the base of the turret provided a close fit when using these separate turrets. I did search for cheap washers to no avail. Having the 1/76 turret options has allowed me to be able to recreate all sorts of 1943-45 Red Army tank options. They even produced a 'uralmash' version of the early 1943 T34/76 turretfor added variety. To repeat you need to do some preparation work but worth the effort. Robert Neill Watt (28 Sep 2019, 08:48)
